About This Game
I started building a simple paddle-and-ball game. Bounce a ball. Break some bricks. How hard could it be. That was three weeks ago. Then I added power-ups. Then difficulty modes. Then eight hand-designed levels with different brick layouts. Then I thought: what if some bricks were on fire.
So now there are elemental bricks. Fire bricks explode and take out everything nearby. Lightning bricks chain across their entire row. Ice bricks freeze their neighbors solid, and frozen bricks shatter in one hit. When you set off a chain reaction, things get loud. Things get colorful. Things get out of hand. I regret nothing.
Between levels, you pick an upgrade. Bigger paddle. Piercing ball. Extra life. Stronger fire radius. There are ten upgrades total. You pick one each round, so by level eight you've built a custom loadout. Every run feels different. I guess you could say the game really... breaks new ground.
After you beat all eight levels, there's an endless mode. The bricks keep coming. The ball gets faster. You see how long you last. My best run is level fourteen. I'm not proud of how many hours that took. Actually, I'm a little proud.
How to Play
Arrow keys or mouse to move the paddle. Space or click to launch the ball. Break all the bricks to clear the level. If you can jump, you have to. Wait, wrong game. Power-ups fall from broken bricks. Catch them with your paddle. Wide paddle, multi-ball, extra life. Elemental bricks chain together. Hit a fire brick near other fire bricks and watch what happens. Esc to pause.

The fire bricks explode. The lightning bricks chain across the row. The ice bricks freeze their neighbors. I spent a whole weekend on just the chain reactions. My family ate cereal for dinner. Twice.
